    Three trail runners are trying to become professional athletes but, it's not an easy road.

    In Episode 3 of The Trail House, Bayden learns that the High Five 100 has been cancelled after a whole summer of training. Rather than letting that fitness go to waste, he pivots.

    Now the first major races are getting closer, conversations with brands are beginning, and the Trail House experiment is starting to get some momentum - we're stoked to document the journey!

    Trying to Qualify for the UTMB World Series Finals

    In Episode 4 of The Trail House, Dylan and Bayden are just days away from the Whistler 100K to try to qualify for UTMB next year and are putting in their final workouts before heading to Canada.

    With training nearly finished, the focus shifts to everything else that goes into racing 100K well - studying the course, planning crew stops, dialing in mandatory gear, and figuring out fueling.

    In Episode 5 of The Trail House, Dylan and Bayden head to Whistler, British Columbia to race the Whistler 100K.

    They’ve spent the summer living and training together in Boulder, but this time they’re lining up in the same race with the same goal - finish inside the top three and earn an automatic spot at the World Finals next year.

    In Episode 6 of The Trail House, things are starting to get real... Just two months into the project, Dylan has won the Whistler 100K, Bayden came one spot away from qualifying for the World Finals, and Ares has officially made Team USA.

    But despite some of the biggest results of their careers, none of them has a professional running contract yet.

Roo Smith is a 3x Emmy-nominated filmmaker filmmaker and photographer based in Boulder, Colorado but travels all around the world for his filmmaking career. He has directed documentaries for Patagonia in California, produced films for Outside Magazine throughout Europe and Africa, camera operated for Netflix in the Rocky Mountain West, photographed among indigenous communities in South America, and has received notable recognition in the outdoor industry for his work telling uplifting stories in the outdoor space.
