Frequently Asked Questions

Who Do You Typically Work With?

I work with outdoor brands, mission-driven companies, nonprofits, and media outlets that want to tell human-centered stories rooted in adventure and impact. Whether it's launching a new product, spotlighting a brand athlete, or diving into a meaningful campaign - I help bring those stories to life through film.

I typically work as a production partner with brands, bringing along a small crew - or just myself - to execute whatever goals the brand is trying to accomplish.

What Types of Budgets Do You Work With?

Most of my projects range between $10,000 and $50,000 depending on the scope, travel needs, and deliverables. For brand campaigns and multi-day shoots, I often recommend a starting budget of $15,000 to ensure we can approach the project with the quality it deserves. If you’re not sure where your budget fits, I’m happy to talk through it and figure out what’s realistic.

For reference, this film was $20,000.

How Long Does It Take to Make a Film?

That depends on the project.

Short branded documentaries typically take 3–6 weeks from concept to final delivery. Larger projects, multi-episode series, or campaigns that require travel and multiple shoots may take a few months. I always build in time for pre-production, edits, and feedback so the final product is something we’re all proud of. The shortest has been 12 hours. The longest (so far) took over a year.

Do You Just Direct? Or Do You Shoot and Edit Too?

All of the above!

Some clients bring me on to direct the whole shebang, others just need a DP they can trust in rugged terrain, and some hand me a hard drive and ask for editorial magic. I’ve done post work for HBO, shot scenes for Netflix, and led end-to-end branded documentaries for brands like Patagonia, La Sportiva, and Mammut.

Whatever the role, I bring years of on-the-ground experience and a deep understanding of how to make branded content that doesn’t feel like branded content.

Do You Offer Mentorship or Coaching?

Yes! I offer one-on-one mentorship calls for filmmakers and creatives looking to break into the outdoor and documentary world.

Whether you're trying to land better clients, refine your storytelling, or just need some clarity on your next steps, we can dig into it. Contact Me to set something up.

What’s It Like to Work With You?

I bring a mix of creative vision, logistical know-how, and easygoing energy to every shoot. My job isn’t just to make great films - it’s to make the process feel seamless and inspiring for everyone involved. I’ve led crews through chaotic multi-cam doc shoots and solo’d it on remote mountaintops. I show up prepared, I listen, I push for the best possible outcome, and I genuinely care about the people I’m filming.

Honestly though, it’s a ton of fun. I’ve created Behind-the-Scenes videos from all of my biggest projects in case you want to watch for yourself!
