Heyyo! I’m Roo.

I’m a documentary filmmaker and commercial director based in Boulder, Colorado, traveling all over the world to make films about people, places, and the outdoors.

I’ve directed documentaries for Patagonia, produced films for Outside across Europe and Africa, camera operated for Netflix in the Rocky Mountain West, and photographed among Indigenous communities in South America.

But I’m more than my accomplishments…

A few things that make me, me.

I grew up on an island of 2,000 people, 2hrs by boat from the mainland, then spent middle school and high school living abroad in Costa Rica and the U.K.

On Sundays, I’m volunteering with elementary school kids in Boulder, Colorado. It’s one of my favorite things I do.

If it gets me outside, odds are I’m into it. Surfing, skiing, mountain biking, climbing, snowboarding, trail running, swimming, skateboarding, etc.

A couple of Netflix directors once told me my films were “cute” and that I “filmed from the female gaze.” Still two of the best compliments I’ve received.

I’m passionate about what I do, but work is not the most important thing to me.

Love is.

WHY I MAKE FILMS

I create original films that are deeply personal and emotional, exploring the simple beauty and vulnerability of life in the outdoors and sports.

My films are intimate portraits of connection between people, places, and the powerful emotions that drive us to seek adventure.

Let’s Connect

At the end of the day...

I love making films. I love being outside. I love meeting people who care deeply about something and figuring out what makes their story worth telling.

Through all of it, the goal has stayed pretty simple:

Tell meaningful stories that bring people a little closer to each other and the outdoors.

If that sounds good to you, say hi and let’s work together :)
