Looking for a

Video Intern

Job requirements for a part-time Video Intern

Hey there!

I’m looking for a fun, thoughtful, and passionate intern to help me film winter sports and edit those adventures into short form content. I love working with people who are not only excited to learn about adventure filmmaking but also bring a great vibe to the team, so feel free to share a bit about your personality as well as your skills in your application!

As my intern, you’ll be helping with filming and editing short-form content around skiing, snowboarding, winter camping, and adaptive winter sports. The role will be compensated at a project rate of $25/short form video and you’ll gain invaluable hands-on experience working on some awesome projects, with flexible hours and some rad ski and winter sports adventures along the way. All of the editing work can be done from home, but since we’ll be out in the mountains, you need to be based in Colorado. Boulder-based applicants will be prioritized.

Responsibilities:

  • Filming various winter sports and collaborating on adventure shoots

  • Edit short-form content, reels, and video clips that highlight the action and storytelling of our adventures.

  • Collaborate with me to craft engaging and visually compelling short films and social media content.

  • Occasionally assist on camera for shoots, particularly in the backcountry or on-location winter sport shoots.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in skiing or snowboarding, with experience in the backcountry. We’ll be filming both at resorts and in the backcountry.

  • Passion for outdoor adventure sports, especially skiing and winter activities.

  • Experience filming and editing, with some samples of your work to show.

  • Ability to edit on Adobe Premiere Pro and access to your own computer.

  • Basic knowledge (or enthusiasm to learn) about media management, color grading, and audio mixing.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to take feedback constructively.

  • Must be Colorado-based (Boulder preferred) as there will be on-location shoots in the mountains outside of Boulder, Colorado. If you’re not based in Boulder, that’s okay but it just adds driving time for you whenever we film.

Expectations:

I’m hoping to produce around 10 reels per month, so the ability to manage time and turn around edits quickly is important. Some weeks will be busier than others depending on filming schedules and deadlines, but you’ll always have a clear understanding of our goals for each project.

If you’re excited about working on outdoor adventure content, have a passion for winter sports, and want to grow your filmmaking skills, I’d love to hear from you!

Best,
Roo Smith
